10+ years of tutoring
Sarah
- While a student at Messiah, I served as a supplemental instruction leader for general chemistry courses.
About Me
I recently graduated magna cum laude with honors from Messiah University (located near Harrisburg, PA) with a B.S. in biochemistry (ACS certified). This fall I will be starting a biochemistry Ph.D. at Cornell University. This involved sitting in on the lectures and holding two 90 minute review sessions each week in which I would create worksheets and activities to help students to learn and retain the information from the course. I really enjoy working with students in chemistry and biology courses, as I love sharing my passion for science with others. Furthermore, I believe that students have different learning styles and as a tutor it is my job to accommodate whichever learning style best suits each student. I value getting to know my students on a personal level as well as an academic level in order to best help them succeed. Outside of academics, I'm an avid distance runner, love hiking and being outside, listening to music, and doing jigsaw puzzles.
