I have 18 years teaching experience as an elementary ESL and middle school Spanish teacher in Minnesota with students from about 20 different countries and many language backgrounds. I've worked with students on English listening, speaking, reading, vocabulary and phonics goals, as well as language-related content goals (science, math, social studies, etc) in order to improve test-taking skills and increase enjoyment of the subject area. While learning, we try to keep things fun with TPR movements, music, mnemonics, game-style learning activities, etc., as it helps our brain remember when we feel at ease. However, I also keep high expectations so students grow as much as possible. That's why my students feel proud of their accomplishments - they worked hard and earned it!
