I am state certified in Reading k-12, Elementary Education, English 5-9 and ESOL endorsed. Teaching for 26 years in two different countries has allowed me to gain a wealth of Knowledge, skills and strategies to work with learner who are struggling with various aspects of Reading, especially students and adults who are English learners. While teaching different levels of Reading and English; I am passionate about Reading comprehension. From determining meaning of words to responding to questions based on the passage. Working with struggling readers brings great satisfaction to the job. Helping students use context clues to determine the meaning of words or using phonics to increase their vocabulary or spelling is a treasure that struggling readers usually welcome to improve their reading levels. Reading is the foundation for a better future and a better life.
