I have spent 8 years as an educator; seeing knowledge and wisdom imparted on the minds of others, as well as witnessing progression in analytical and critical thinking skills is a passion of mine. As an undergraduate, I taught health classes at underfunded high schools in the Bronx, NY. Upon graduating, I went on to teach high school math for 5 years in both Philadelphia and Chicago, simultaneously receiving an M.Ed. in secondary education, mathematics. Every year, my students surpassed school-wide growth goals on standardized math tests, including the ACT and PSAT.I have now returned to my home-state of North Carolina to pursue a Ph.D. in History. While I work on this endeavor, I am available to tutor Math, History, and English. When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy tearing through books, stumbling through being an adult learner of piano, hiking, practicing yoga, and being in good company.

My interests and hobbies are: Reading! My current favorite authors are Haruki Murakami and Jhumpa Lahiri, although in reality I have too many favorites to list here. I also love: learning to play the piano, hiking, yoga, playing pool, skiing (when we have the weather for it), foreign films, and enjoying the company of friends and family.
