I am certified by the Texas State board of Education and highly qualified to to teach all subjects grades k-8 and social studies grade 7-12 I have served as a elementary math teacher, world geography teacher and am currently serving as a 6th math/science/ and social studies teacher. I would say my specialty is in math, I have experience using several problem solving strategies (i.e bar models, T-chart, partial products, area model, etc.) and concrete math manipulative (i.e. fraction strips, base 10 blocks, cuisenaire rods, pan balance, etc.) in teaching math. I do this by getting to know each student individually and use their personality preferences (i.e likes and dislikes) and interests to find relevant and interesting analogies and explanations to help them comprehend and reinforce difficult concepts. I also love to utilize technology to supplement the teaching process, I do not rely on it because it may sometimes fail, but I do find it effective in reinforcing many concepts.
