About Me
I have taught, tutored and coached students at different levels in a variety of settings. Currently, I teach in the Psychology Department at North Carolina Central University. I primarily teach Statistics and Research Methods courses. I really enjoy Math and Math-based subjects... I have successfully tutored graduate students, college students, and high school students in Stat, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and math subjects through AB Calculus. I hold a Master of Public Health degree. I worked for many years as a Health Economist in Big Pharma. I have a lot of experience with statistical analyses and Health Science. Also, I hold an undergraduate Chemistry degree, so I can help with Chemistry, Biology, and Physics too. I have experience as a tutor-mentor with student-athletes at a university; which is essential academic coaching. Also, I have taught academic study skills to undergraduate students. I have been successful at encouraging and empowering students who were having academic difficulties by teaching them how to rely on the strengths of their learning styles, time-management, reading methods, note-taking methods, SMART goal setting, celebrating successes, and navigating challenges. I am extremely organized and energetic. I also know how to be empathetic while maintaining high expectations.
