My teaching philosophy lies in finding the diamond in the rock in order to make learning fun. If the thought of writing Essays traumatizes students, or if they are overwhelmed by the complex rules of Writing, Grammar, or Reading comprehension, I can help them to master those skills, all while enjoying the journey! I can also walk students through the Critical Writing process by developing a thesis statement to completing the final draft. My goal is to help students discover the joy of Language Arts. I earned a B.A. in English with a Specialization in Creative Writing from Southern Methodist University and a J.D. degree from Florida Coastal School of Law. I have tutored students for over 8 years from K5 through 12 grade primarily in Language Arts, and my specialty lies in the Creative Writing process. I have been writing personally for over 20 years, and my hobbies are dancing, reading fiction novels, and watching comedy on TV. I am a mentor and a motivator, and I enjoy nothing more than helping students to conquer their fears of learning.
