My basic learning and teaching philosophy has always been that the best way to handle difficult material is to take your head off the page and to try to reframe the question in a different way. Coming to a problem - whether it be an essay, a math question, or a writing exercise - with a different frame of mind can help make learning fun and rewarding. I have over five years experience tutoring both groups and individuals and have taught all ages (my youngest student was 5 years old and my oldest student was 71!). I think it's important that both the student and the tutor feel comfortable and ready to learn - the best way to learn is with an open mind.
