As a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, I have years of experiences teaching undergraduates in the class room and conducting research in the laboratory. While obtaining my Ph.D. I became well versed in breaking down the complex subject material found in biology courses and presenting it to my students in a clear and understandable manner. Biology is more a story than memorizing a long list of facts, and as a Biology "story teller", my students retain more information than they ever did before. While at Stony Brook University, I worked as an assistant teaching new high school AP Biology teachers from the Tri-State area. Here I re-visited the high school curriculum, and soon after broadened my teaching experiences in various high school level subjects, such as math and history. The sciences, like all subjects, require strong study skills. As a teacher/tutor, I focus on instilling proper note-taking and study habits. While my students have me as a instructor now, they will need the proper educational foundation and skills to succeed as they progress in their academic careers. And it is my desire to guide them to that point.
