- I am a senior at Geneva College studying elementary education with handson experience teaching in a kindergarten classroom.
About Me
I tutor all core elementary content areas, including early literacy, phonics, reading, writing, math, science, and kindergarten readiness. My teaching philosophy centers on the belief that every child has unique strengths, the capacity to grow, and the ability to thrive when they feel supported and understood. I approach learning as a partnership, one where I listen carefully, build trust, and tailor instruction to each student's needs. I believe children learn best through clear structure, positive encouragement, and engaging, multi-sensory experiences that help concepts come alive. My tutoring style is warm, patient, and intentional. I break skills into manageable steps, model strategies clearly, and guide students toward independence with consistent routines and gentle support. I prioritize creating a safe, encouraging environment where students feel confident taking risks and proud of their progress. I love helping learners build strong academic foundations and discover joy in learning. My goal is always to meet students where they are, celebrate their growth, and help them develop the confidence to take their next steps forward.
Hobbies & Interests
Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with horses, writing creative pieces such as poems and children’s stories, and making crafts. I love being outdoors, exploring new ideas, and finding hands-on activities that spark curiosity and movement. These interests help me bring creativity, calm energy, and a sense of play into my work with students.
