About Me

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Management and an Associate of Arts degree in Computer Science, providing me with a strong foundation to tutor a variety of subjects, particularly in Math, Computer Science, Accounting, Financial Literacy, QuickBooks, and Business Writing and Principles. Throughout my career, I've found immense satisfaction in guiding and educating others, especially when it comes to demystifying complex technical and financial topics. My passion lies in helping students truly understand the fundamentals of these subjects and how they apply to the real world. I've had the opportunity to educate clients on mortgage options, train colleagues on financial best practices, and develop training programs on specialized home loans for real estate professionals and veterans. I've also taught first-time homebuyers about the mortgage process through a community housing organization, empowering them to make informed financial decisions, and tutored individuals and small businesses on accounting and financial management principles. From explaining the intricacies of algorithms and coding logic to helping someone master QuickBooks for their business, or guiding a student through the principles of algebra or financial planning, I find it incredibly rewarding to witness those "aha!" moments when a concept clicks. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. I tailor my approach to each student's individual needs, using real-world examples to make the material relatable and breaking down complex topics into manageable parts. I believe in fostering a love of learning and helping students build confidence in their abilities. Outside of work and education, I enjoy staying active in my community, yoga, meditation, philosophy, and constantly learning new skills, which often gives me new perspectives to bring to my tutoring sessions.
