About Me
I am a graduate of Cambridge University in Leadership, from the University of Illinois-Springfield in Online Teaching and Learning, and hold baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral degrees in geology and geochemistry. Since graduation, I have traveled extensively and have presented at over two hundred conferences and international venues. I am the sole or senior author of more than ninety publications, abstracts, presentations and workshops on an international basis. I have taught students in science courses such as geology, geochemistry, earth science, meteorology, oceanography, and astronomy over the past twenty-five years. I have served as an advisor for students in many areas of discipline and have led Study Abroad learning experiences for students in both Australia and Hawai'i.Teaching has been a central part of my adult life and I strive to not only teach students but provide them with life skills such as understanding diversity, equity, and inclusiveness which I stress in all the courses I teach. Education is my life's work, and I impress upon others that it is critical for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all my students. I enjoy hiking, collecting rocks, geocaching, and flying drones to produce aerial photos and videos. I have two students in college on the west coast. I look forward to working with you and finding out more about your needs.
