Owing to my love for teaching and helping students to understand challenging math concepts, I researched into how mathematics ought to be taught during my doctoral studies in Minnesota. Helping students to excel in math has been my passion for several years. Student achievement and success is my focus so I do one-on-one lessons as well as small group sessions. I believe students need to experience the fun side of learning math without the usual math anxiety. Through cognitively-guided instructions (CGI), I show students other methods of learning math and arriving at the correct answers without sweat. I teach and tutor at all levels from K-12. Learning math should not be a struggle so in my lesson planning, I model how the work ought to be done, followed by having my students do some practice questions. I help my students to master the concepts before we move on. My lessons also provide for those who need differentiated instructions, in other words, teaching lessons tailored to fit the students' learning needs.
