  • However, being a good teacher is the hardest of all the jobs in the world.
  • Hence, a successful teacher is a one who can effectively educate both the mind and heart of the students.

About Me

"It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge."Albert EinsteinEducation is fundamental to success in life, and a good teacher is the best source of education. In order to be effective and successful in educating students, a good teacher should possess certain defining characteristics that are necessary to properly educate and lead the students in positive ways. In addition to the academic (quantitative) qualifications, the effective teacher should possess certain personal (qualitative) traits such as he or she should be compassionate, nurturing and caring to the students, should come to the class prepared with positive attitudes, hold high expectations for all the students, being resourceful and inventive, should display a personal touch by connecting with students personally, also needs to cultivate a sense of belonging by making students feel welcome and comfortable, needs to respect students, admit mistakes and should be forgiving to the students. In the contemporary world, with the rise of artificial intelligence and information at our fingertips, we don't need to go to school and teachers to learn facts and figures; a quick google search will give us all the answers to our questions. However, a robot cannot inspire and kindle the imagination of the students and nor do they can nurture students by educating what is right from wrong. Just like two sides of the same coin, a holistic education is a key to successful education. While a good-hearted fool is no use to the society at one side, an intelligent person with no concern for the society is dangerous to the society. Therefore, a good teacher should be able to teach students both the importance of wisdom and compassion to be successful and happy in life. I am compassionate and Connecticut College graduate with Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral Neuroscience, and I am currently pursuing Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience.
