About Me
I received my Bachelor of Science in Accounting from University of Maryland University College, and my Master of Arts in Education from National University. Over the years, I've tutored students ranging from elementary age students, all the way to adults continuing education. The majority of my experience is in teaching math, Japanese, and English (ESL) to Japanese native speakers. Before I left full time work to raise a family, I worked as a corporate training manager for a major retail corporation, in the United Kingdom. As part of a military family, I've lived in several different countries, and worked with people all over the world. As a native of Japan, I use my expert knowledge to keep Japanese tutoring sessions lively and interesting, in order to help a students increase their knowledge of the Japanese language and culture. I find it extremely rewarding to see my students overcome their anxiety towards the subject and gain confident and happy about their achievements. I customize my teaching style to the individual students' needs and personality. I always ensure that my students fully understand a topic covered in a session, and I want them to be comfortable asking me questions if they don't understand completely. In my free time, I enjoy horseback riding, running, hiking, and cooking.
