I began tutoring through a volunteer music lessons program in college, and have since instructed students in a variety of subjects, including writing and psychology. My favorite memories of tutoring include learning that one of my students received her first ever "A" on a paper that I helped her write, and when a junior high clarinet student earned first chair after a playing test. By presenting information in a way that is simple and relatable, I hope to help students not just memorize, but really understand the subject. Additionally, I try to teach students the skills that they need to solve problems independently. I am passionate about helping students to improve in all academic areas.
