I graduated from Johns Hopkins University with my bachelors in Psychology and Sociology and a maters in School Counseling. I thought I was going to go straight into counseling but I realized to be a better counselor I should have some experience in the classroom. This epiphany led me to New York City to be a teaching assistant with Blue Engine in Algebra and Geometry for two years. After my two years, I became a New York City Teaching Fellow. I taught Geometry and Algebra for two years. I am currently certified in School Counseling in Michigan and Special Education in New York. I believe that all students can learn and can achieve academically with the right support. Because of this belief, many of my supervisors and coworkers have stated that I have a calming effect on children while learning and show great patience and determination while teaching.
