I have also taught mathematics at the college level for the past 7 years. My research touches on the interactions between math and theoretical computer science, as well as number theory (largely the study of prime numbers). I've taught courses ranging from basic arithmetic up through linear algebra and multivariable calculus. The second most exciting thing about mathematics is that moment when something totally opaque and confusing suddenly solidifies into crystal clarity. It's the sort of moment that makes you shout "aha!" or "eureka!". The most exciting thing about mathematics is sharing that experience with someone else.
