I have had several experiences in tutoring ranging from volunteer tutoring for underprivileged children to tutoring many of my peers in standardized testing to leading an English class for students at a Chinese university. While most of my experience in tutoring comes in standardized test preparation and English composition and literature, I also have a great interest in mathematics and have experience in teaching it as well. My approach to tutoring stresses deeper understanding of topics and underlying concepts, as opposed to learning just to pass test questions. I further believe in teaching towards individual student's learning styles and adapting towards individual needs so as to maximize progress and learning. Outside of academics, in my free time, I enjoy watching movies, playing soccer, reading books, and playing video games.
