I received my Bachelor degree in Elementary Education. Since graduation, I have started school at Northern Arizona University. I am completing my Masters in Continuing Elementary Education. I am in my fourth year of teaching at a Title 1 school here in the valley. In addition to teaching fourth and fifth grade, I have taught before and after school Reading and Math classes. I especially have enjoyed teaching our before and after school classes because I get to work one-on-one with the students. Although I enjoy teaching a variety of subjects, Reading is my passion! My teaching style is enthusiastic, loving, and engaging! I believe that each individual learner is different, therefore, it is crucial to use a variety of teaching strategies with students. I believe that using hands on manipulatives, comparing material being taught to real-life situations, and students having the ability to explain their thinking are key elements to learning. Aside from teaching I am an active person who loves to travel and spend time with family and friends. I also enjoy photography, paying the guitar and reading.
