I have been a tutor for seventeen years, and many of my clients were seen while I was still in school myself. My passion for tutoring comes from a desire to share the knowledge I have and to help others discover their potential for learning. While I have tutored many subjects in my career, including all those listed in my college curriculum, my favorite is Math. Whether it's Arithmetic, Algebra, or Calculus, I love being able to help students understand how to manipulate numbers and solve problems. Some of my preferred teaching methods include visual aids, providing supplemental literature, incorporating music in language studies, and simply teaching through repetition with immediate feedback. I am a firm believer in every student having their own learning style, and I truly enjoy working within the style of each student I encounter. My greatest success stories were students who made me think outside the box with different approaches to instruction. When I'm not working, I enjoy crocheting, traveling, and listening to a variety of music. I also appreciate a good hiking trail, a well-written novel, and a variety of dance forms from ballroom to Scottish Dance.
