I received my first training as a tutor in two undergraduate courses which prepared me for my job as a general chemistry tutor at Rollins College, where I received my B.A. in chemistry and mathematics. As an undergraduate, I also worked at a tutoring center in Winter Park, FL. At this center, I tutored students ranging from elementary to undergraduate. Although my professional and academic specialty is chemistry, I have extensive experience tutoring in a broad range of subjects, particularly test preparation (ACT/SAT) and mathematics. As a lifelong learner, I am constantly making new connections and gaining a deeper understanding of the content and context of the material I work with. This enables me to approach a question or concept from numerous angles, not only enabling my students to retain the material but also helping them to see the broader implications of whatever they are learning. As a tutor, I aim to pique my students' interest and guide them to realize their own educational potential. Beyond academics, I thoroughly enjoy pursuing scientific research, reading (fiction and non-fiction), and outdoor activities, e.g. hiking and kayaking.
