About Me

I graduated from the University of California, Davis with a major in Biological Sciences, with an emphasis in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior, and minor in Exercise Biology (Kinesiology). Previously, I was a Manager in the Melanoma Program at the University of California, San Francisco, where I investigate novel therapeutics in early and late stage melanoma. Having a strong science and math background, I thoroughly enjoy working with students in achieving their goals. Whether your goal is to ace an exam, setting up a career plan, or having a social connection - I am here to guide you through that process! Most students typically come to me with science and math help, but I can help with college applications, personal statements, and test preparation. I have had over two years of tutoring and education consulting experience while being on the west coast after receiving my bachelor's degree. I enjoy playing football, basketball, and go snowboarding in my free time while maintaing a balanced and healthy lifestyle whenever I can. Having grown up in Los Angeles all my life, and living in the San Francisco Bay Area the past few years, I enjoy the bustling city life. I also enjoy roaming coffee shops, visiting art galleries, and playing tourist while I'm still here in New York City.

Q&A with Jeffrey

My teaching philosophy is guided by 2 principles. First, I guide students by the Socratic method of teaching, which is to further their thinking by asking questions not giving answers. Secondly, I teach students my approach; students in return teach me their approach, and finally, they are able to do it on their own.
