I'm available to tutor biology, chemistry, physics, math from Algebra up through AP Calculus, SAT test prep, and French. I've been tutoring students in science and math for 7 years. I also spent 8 months working and studying in France, and have tutored high school and adult students in French. When I'm not working or studying, I love playing volleyball (indoors or on the beach!) and spending time outside, canoeing or hiking with my dog. I look forward to meeting and working with you!

I am passionate about both. I have been a teaching assistant, tutor, researcher, guest lecturer, researcher, and am currently a practicing engineer.
I'm a junior at Yale University pursuing a double major in Linguistics and Theater. I have experience tutoring in a variety of subjects, but I'm particularly excited to help students with writing, critical reading, and SAT or ACT preparation. I had a strong support network of teachers and mentors throughout middle and high school, so I understand firsthand the importance of thoughtful, individualized educational enrichment. I seek to meet each student where they are in order to help them reach their greatest potential! When I'm not tutoring, you might find me performing improv comedy, playing saxophone, or trying to write the next great American musical.
I am a rising sophomore studying civil engineering at Cornell University. I enjoy tutoring math (algebra-calculus 3), high school and college physics, Spanish, and writing. I am currently working towards a degree in engineering, most recently attending the University of Maryland, Clark School of Engineering as an out-of-state student originally hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I specialize in tutoring all ranges of mathematics. Math and the sciences of physics, chemistry, and biology have always been my strongest areas as a student. I believe my experience as a tutor and understanding of learning processes make me a capable and proficient tutor. My tutoring style is initially problem based. I believe the best way to gauge a student's capability in any subject is to provide questions that reveal the foundation and challenges of the subject being taught. In observing the student's approach to problem-solving and then providing active aid where helpful, I can find where the student is lacking in understanding. From this starting point, I then more directly teach to the issues in developing a complete and applicable understanding of the subject matter. Beyond academia, my main passion has always been athletics. I have played many sports during my amateur career with my longest and most active participation in Ice Hockey. I played in the PAHL for 11 years, the PIHL for 4 years, and the ACHA for 3 years while attending the University of Maryland. I love following the NFL and the NHL. My apologies to the local fanbases, but the Penguins and the Steelers have always been my favorite teams to root for! Outside of athletics I also have a strong interest in all types of games; board, card, and otherwise. I enjoy game theory and have recently developed a passion for chess. I look forward to working with your student and developing their confidence in the subject matter at hand, while growing their ability to better help themself!
I am a recent graduate of Drexel University, in which I obtained a BS in Biological Sciences with a concentration in organismal physiology. During my college years, I was a peer tutor who would help struggling classmates in many math and science subjects. I also served as a merit badge counselor in my Boy Scout troop, teaching scouts (ages 12-17) in subjects such as First Aid and Emergency Preparedness. These experiences inspired me to continue this passion, striving to make learning a fun, insightful, and a lifelong process while helping students learn in the easiest and most effective way possible. My favorite subject to teach is math, specifically the SAT/ACT math sections. As someone who values education and intellectual curiosity, I hope to impose this same philosophy on my students. In my 7+ months working with Varsity Tutors, I have found profound satisfaction in helping students to the top of their class and increasing their test scores. I am a very flexible tutor willing to work around students' schedules.
I am majoring in Computer Science with a concentration in Data Science and a minor in Math. During my time in college, I have tutored and taught underserved students in Computer Science whether they were prepping for the AP exam or first time coding. As humans get technologically more advanced, I am a firm believer in introducing Computer Science earlier in education. Computer Science can be used in almost every field out there. Although I have a plenty of experiences teaching Computer Science, I have also tutored students in STEM subjects, in particular math and physics.

I am an undergraduate student at Temple University. I am currently working toward a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and am particularly interested in automotive engineering. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, my favorites are general physics and algebra. In helping students prepare for the ACT, I am particularlly helpful in the math and science portions of the exams. I personally stress the foundations of any subject, due to the confusion in basic building blocks of knowledge compounding at higher levels. My hobbies and interests include lifting weights, watching football and learning about new technology in my free time.

I believe that by making complex concepts relevant to their prospective careers, I can inspire students to excel. Additionally, my experience as a teaching assistant has honed my ability to communicate effectively across diverse learning styles and in online environments, ensuring that every student feels supported on their educational journey.
I am a recent graduate of University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Womens & Gender Studies. Having been a science nerd throughout high school, I knew that I would want to study biochemistry at university, but I also wanted to strengthen my writing, analytical, and research abilities in a non-scientific context. So focusing on both was perfect for me because I was able to develop analytical and problem-solving skills in two very different contexts. Having this background also allows me to feel comfortable tutoring a range of subjects.
I'm a senior at the University of Pittsburgh double majoring in Neuroscience and Spanish and minoring in Chemistry.

I am a lifelong learner, teacher, and researcher in the field of physics. I received a PhD in Physics from the University of Michigan and a BS in Physics from Rice University. I have four years of physics teaching experience at the University of Michigan, primarily undergraduate laboratory courses with an emphasis on electromagnetism, circuits, waves, optics, and real-world applications of these and other physical phenomena. Many of these courses, including one I helped design, focused on helping non-STEM students master physics concepts that may be difficult to grasp in a standard classroom setting. I have tutored in a variety of subjects since high school, but most recently I have spent several years helping students understand concepts and succeed in coursework throughout a large variety of college-level physics topics, from basic mechanics to advanced electrodynamics and special relativity.
I am still involved in peer tutoring among my friends and classmates.
I am currently a senior at Rice University. I am majoring in Economics and Biochemistry & Cell Biology. Since I am still a college student, I have taken most subjects recently so the concepts are still fresh in my mind. I really enjoy working with students and will customize my method of teaching to best cater you. I have previously tutored with Kumon Learning Center and am eager to tutor you!
A chemical and biomolecular engineering degree means Steve spent years applying thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and electromagnetism to real systems — the same core principles that drive AP Physics 1 and 2. He's particularly sharp at teaching students how to connect free-body diagrams to Newton's laws and energy bar charts to conservation principles, building the kind of physical intuition the exam's qualitative questions demand. Rated 5.0 by students.
I'm a sophomore at Vanderbilt University, majoring in Physics and Classics and minoring in Mathematics and Computer Science. I'm qualified to teach a wide variety of subjects, but prefer to focus on the fields I'm studying in school listed above; I have a passion for those areas that I want to share with everyone, no matter the education level or confidence. I believe that no one is "bad at math," but many people haven't been taught math and science concepts in a way that matches how they best learn. As a result, I try to tailor my teaching style to be the best it can be for each individual student. With regard to math and physics, I myself prefer a physical, graphical understanding of different concepts, so I do best at explaining what seemingly abstract concepts actually mean in the real world and how they act on a graph.
I am a student at the University of Chicago majoring in mathematics & comparative human development. I sing in an acapella group, play violin, and on weekends I love to go for bike rides or long runs, see local theater and music performances, and explore the city of Chicago. Through my studies and bike rides and runs, I enjoy working hard and building personalized, step-by-step plans for pursuing the goals I set. Nonetheless, I also believe in the importance of having fun and finding enjoyment in my day-to-day life, which I do through music and geographic exploration. I believe that this enthusiasm, curiosity, and steady work ethic are the keys to achieving goals once thought impossible, and I hope to inspire such a mindset in the people with whom I work.
