I am an undergraduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and I have tutored students since my early high school years. I've had experience instructing and guiding a variety of students, from young middle schoolers taking their first steps into the world of computer programming to my own peers struggling with their calculus exams. Over the past year alone, I've worked with over 30 students, spending several hours each day to help them stay up to speed on their schoolwork. I specialize in many areas of math as well as computer science, biology and physics. When tutoring students, I draw on my own experience with learning the material to identify and address the obstacles they face. I believe that promoting a deeper level of understanding of the subject, as opposed to merely teaching to the test or problem set, will enable students to excel in the long-term.

I'm an MIT undergrad studying Urban Planning. I loved math in science in school, but know that it can be frustrating and easy to dislike when taught in a way that is difficult to understand, or when it seems useless and pointless to learn. My goal is to get students not only to perform well in these subjects, but to fully comprehend and enjoy them.

I'm not tutoring or teaching swim lessons, I enjoy reading (especially mystery and crime novels), distance running, and long walks with my chocolate lab Snickers.

I am a highly successful physics and chemistry teacher in Massachusetts Public Schools for over 25 years. I graduated with high honors from Princeton University in Chemical Engineering. My math skills are practical and include graduate courses in differential equations and computer modeling.

I am a graduate of Emory University, where I received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I then received a Master of Science from Johns Hopkins University where I focused on Biotechnology. I am currently pursuing my M.D. in Boston, MA. During my time in graduate school, I tutored middle school and high school students in science and math. I love tutoring science, especially health sciences as I am in school to become a physician. I also enjoy teaching math and I find it to be one of the most rewarding subjects to watch a student grow to understand. Throughout my academic career, I have taken the SAT, GRE, and MCAT so I am especially passionate about test preparation.

I am currently a senior working towards my B.A. in physics, and I just returned from a year of study in Europe, during which I worked full time as a climate change researcher at the University of Helsinki in Finland and passed two intensive PhD level atmospheric science courses. This subject is my passion and I love passing that on!

My expertise is in classroom, small group, and one-on-one instruction in physics of the first year. I have, however, taught at all levels from non-science major courses through the graduate physics curriculum. My education includes a bachelor's degree in physics from Amherst College and a doctorate from Stanford University. During my career I spent time at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, the University of California, San Diego, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the California Institute of Technology, and Brandeis University, where I worked for nearly 40 years. I am a firm believer that students learn in STEM fields only by doing, not by merely listening. Thus the core of any tutoring experience with me is working on problems. The most formative experience a student can have is to work through a problem, explaining each step to the tutor as he or she goes through it. Only by explaining the concepts and skills to someone else can one be sure of his or her own understanding. My goal in any tutoring interaction is to assist the student in gaining the necessary skills, knowledge, and confidence to attack any conceivable problem set to him or her by a classroom teacher.

I am current student at Harvard Medical School. I attended Vassar College as an undergraduate where I studied Science, Technology and Society. I am a patient teacher and eager to work with students of all ages.

I am a graduate of Carleton College and currently work as a cancer immunology researcher at MIT. My ultimate goal is to matriculate in an MD/PhD program and become a medical researcher, and I look forward to one day teaching classes of my own.

I am a graduate from Suffolk University with a BS in Computer Science. I am currently beginning a career in software design with a focus on mobile applications. My main passions are Mathematics and Computer Science, although I have a strong academic background in several areas including English and the physical sciences. I have been tutoring since high school and have experience working with all ages in a number of subjects. I have the most experience working with high school and middle school students in mathematics. My other teaching experiences include tutoring in English and computer skills in an ESOL classroom for refugees, as well as private and group violin instruction for children of all ages.

After completing secondary school in South Africa, I did a PG year at a high school in Connecticut. During my year in Connecticut, I took Honors and AP Chemistry, Honors and AP Physics, and Honors Calculus; I also received the CollegeBoard AP Scholar with Honors Award. I have experience tutoring the New SAT. I understand the material and subtle nuances of the test. I have developed test-taking strategies that help a great deal when taking the SAT.

I'm excited about the opportunity to work with you! I graduated from Amherst College in 2015 with a degree chemistry and plan to matriculate to medical school this August. I'm comfortable tutoring elementary- through college-level science, math, English and Spanish and have significant test-prep experience, including SAT, AP and MCAT exams.

I am an undergraduate student at Boston University studying in the Seven Year Liberal Arts/Medical Education Program (BSMD). I was a National AP Scholar, US Presidential Scholar Nominee, and in the top 5% of my class. Additionally, I worked as an intern in a graduate-level biochemistry lab researching the metabolically reversed reduction of aldehydes to alcohols.

I am currently a second year medical student at Tufts University. I was a tutor for fpur years at Brigham Young University, and I love helping people learn! I really enjoy tutoring these subjects because my students and I work together to understand the principles underlying the problems, which helps us remember everything better and makes studying more enjoyable. I am a third year biology major at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, with a strong background in math at all levels. I'm Dennis. I study physics, math, and computer science. I have done research about cosmic ray acceleration at supernova shock fronts in the Princeton University Department of Astrophysics, simulating how the turbulent plasmas push protons and ions. I have also worked at the Norfolk State University Department of Engineering, designing, simulating, optimizing, and building light filters for wavelength-division optical-electronic multiplexers. Another field I study is the mathematics of quasicrystals and aperiodic tilings, such as the Penrose tiling of rhombuses.

I am a 2023 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a Finance/Economics major and a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. I am a passionate student in the math and business realms, as I enjoy the intuitiveness of the former and the real-world potential of the latter. During classes in middle and high school, I developed a reputation of being a good source of help within my classes in a non-tutor capacity, and grew that into a peer tutor role a couple times a week during lunch my senior year of high school. What I hope to accomplish with my tutoring is ensure that you not only achieve your desired grade/score, but see how the different concepts relate to each other in the bigger picture. The more important part is to critically think about the subject matter in other, more unfamiliar contexts. I am a lifelong learner, teacher, and researcher in the field of physics. I received a PhD in Physics from the University of Michigan and a BS in Physics from Rice University. I have four years of physics teaching experience at the University of Michigan, primarily undergraduate laboratory courses with an emphasis on electromagnetism, circuits, waves, optics, and real-world applications of these and other physical phenomena. Many of these courses, including one I helped design, focused on helping non-STEM students master physics concepts that may be difficult to grasp in a standard classroom setting. I have tutored in a variety of subjects since high school, but most recently I have spent several years helping students understand concepts and succeed in coursework throughout a large variety of college-level physics topics, from basic mechanics to advanced electrodynamics and special relativity.
