I am a mechanical engineering student who is passionate about the propensity for engineering and technology to impact society for the better. I love learning new things and teaching others!

I am an astronomer who spends her days coding in Python and conjuring up equations to fit trends I observe in my spectroscopic data. Currently, I study how stellar environment affects the gaseous disks around baby stars that may be forming planets (Yep & White 2020, The Astrophysical Journal, Volume 889, Issue 1, id. 50). Math, physics, and coding are all part of my job solving mysteries of the Universe! Throughout the year (except during global pandemics), I run Georgia State University's telescopes to show everyone the planets, stars, clusters, and galaxies visible from right here on Earth. I am a Biotechnology Master's Student at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, ETH Zurich. I completed my undergraduate degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2018 while minoring in Biomedical Engineering. My passion is researching novel ways to use ethically derived induced pluripotent stem cells in both research and therapeutic environments, and I love to share my knowledge and excitement for science, math, and language with others.

After an 11-year hiatus, I am excited to return to one-on-one tutoring in high school and college-level precalculus, calculus, and physics. My goal is to build students' confidence in subjects that often feel overwhelming by identifying the root of their challenges - whether it's a forgotten foundational skill or a mismatch in teaching and learning styles - and helping them work through those roadblocks with clarity and patience. I discovered my passion for tutoring in high school through volunteer mentoring and later assisted classmates in physics at my teacher's request. Since then, I have supported students in courses ranging from geometry to upper-level calculus. I am currently tutoring while pursuing my next full-time opportunity, most recently having worked for a railroad construction products supplier.

After teaching for fifteen years from grade six to college level students there is one truth I have learned. Learning can only occur if the student has a point of reference. As teachers we have the responsibility to evaluate our student's level of knowledge and to increase their level of understanding, comprehension, analysis, and diagnosis of the subject we teach. Furthermore, I believe that a teacher is morally obligated to enter the classroom with only the highest of expectations for each and every one of her students. Thus, the teacher maximizes the positive benefits that naturally come along with any self-fulfilling prophecy. With dedication, perseverance, and hard work, her students will rise to the occasion. I aim to bring an open mind, a positive attitude, and high expectations to the classroom each day. I believe that I owe it to my students, as well as the community, to bring consistency, diligence, and warmth to my job in the hope that I can ultimately inspire and encourage such traits in the children as well.

I am a recent graduate of Emory University, where I studied Mathematics and Philosophy. I have over three years of experience tutoring middle-school to high-school students in math, science, and test prep. I think every student learns differently, and the most important job of a tutor is to tailor his or her style of teaching to each student's unique way of thinking.

I am very adaptable. I studied in a foreign country and I have traveled to a lot of places. I have friends from all over the world and I still keep in touch with them. Having dealt with students with different personalities I believe that I can be a good friend to them. Although teaching is my major area of interest, I spend my spare time doing social activities and sports. I am fond of playing table tennis. In addition to all these, I am also interested in cooking and traveling. I believe that I can combine my personal interests with those of a student to better address his/her needs.

I am an undergraduate student studying Neuroscience and Religion at Emory University. I've been tutoring for over three years, and I have extensive experience tutoring math all the way from Algebra 1 to Calculus 2. I am extremely passionate about helping students understand and love what they are learning, and in my experience, my tutoring style of focusing on the underlying concepts of a subject has been very successful. I find students that are able to critically apply what they have learned to new problems are the most successful, and I strive to make every one of my students adopt this mentality. I love getting to know my students on a personal level, and speaking to them about my love for undergraduate research, dancing, and sports!

I'm not tutoring or buried in my textbooks, you will either find me rock climbing at the Triangle Rock Club, playing Ultimate Frisbee, working on my car, or enjoying the great outdoors (beaches, mountains, forests--you name it, I love it). On rainy weekends I enjoy tinkering with computers and old electronics, playing Pokemon, or picking at my guitar.

I am an interdisciplinary educator with an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. from Dartmouth College. My background is primarily in integrated arts learning and museum education and I specialize in visual arts, history and art history, and object-based learning. In all subjects, I take a creative, inquiry-based and learner-centered approach, designing opportunities for each unique individual to meet their learning goals.

I am a recent graduate from a masters program in biostatistics at Columbia University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in biological sciences, with a focus in neurobiology at Northwestern University. In August, I will be starting a doctoral program in biostatistics at NYU. I was a teaching assistant at Columbia University in my department and also have tutored graduate students and undergraduates privately as well. My primary areas of tutoring are math and statistics coursework in addition to math sections on standardized tests such as the GRE and GMAT. I am very passionate about helping students feel more confident and excited about math. In my spare time, I enjoy running, playing piano, and spending time with friends and family.

I am a graduate of Wesleyan University, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with High Honors. With eight years of experience working in education, I've tutored students in math, science, history, and English, as well as helped students prepare for standardized tests. I've guided adults towards passing the US Citizenship Exam and taught English in India, where I lived for six months. Whenever I work with a student I personalize the lessons to fit their particular learning style, since I know every student is unique and having the right fit can make all the difference in making learning fun and effective. My strengths are tutoring the social sciences and humanities, as well as making math and standardized tests approachable to students that normally don't like those subjects. In my spare time I like traveling, spending time in the outdoors (climbing & backpacking), meditation, and playing soccer. Next fall I will be beginning my PhD in Education at Harvard University.
