I am a mechanical engineering student who is passionate about the propensity for engineering and technology to impact society for the better. I love learning new things and teaching others!

I am an astronomer who spends her days coding in Python and conjuring up equations to fit trends I observe in my spectroscopic data. Currently, I study how stellar environment affects the gaseous disks around baby stars that may be forming planets (Yep & White 2020, The Astrophysical Journal, Volume 889, Issue 1, id. 50). Math, physics, and coding are all part of my job solving mysteries of the Universe! Throughout the year (except during global pandemics), I run Georgia State University's telescopes to show everyone the planets, stars, clusters, and galaxies visible from right here on Earth. I am a Biotechnology Master's Student at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, ETH Zurich. I completed my undergraduate degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2018 while minoring in Biomedical Engineering. My passion is researching novel ways to use ethically derived induced pluripotent stem cells in both research and therapeutic environments, and I love to share my knowledge and excitement for science, math, and language with others.

After an 11-year hiatus, I am excited to return to one-on-one tutoring in high school and college-level precalculus, calculus, and physics. My goal is to build students' confidence in subjects that often feel overwhelming by identifying the root of their challenges - whether it's a forgotten foundational skill or a mismatch in teaching and learning styles - and helping them work through those roadblocks with clarity and patience. I discovered my passion for tutoring in high school through volunteer mentoring and later assisted classmates in physics at my teacher's request. Since then, I have supported students in courses ranging from geometry to upper-level calculus. I am currently tutoring while pursuing my next full-time opportunity, most recently having worked for a railroad construction products supplier.

After teaching for fifteen years from grade six to college level students there is one truth I have learned. Learning can only occur if the student has a point of reference. As teachers we have the responsibility to evaluate our student's level of knowledge and to increase their level of understanding, comprehension, analysis, and diagnosis of the subject we teach. Furthermore, I believe that a teacher is morally obligated to enter the classroom with only the highest of expectations for each and every one of her students. Thus, the teacher maximizes the positive benefits that naturally come along with any self-fulfilling prophecy. With dedication, perseverance, and hard work, her students will rise to the occasion. I aim to bring an open mind, a positive attitude, and high expectations to the classroom each day. I believe that I owe it to my students, as well as the community, to bring consistency, diligence, and warmth to my job in the hope that I can ultimately inspire and encourage such traits in the children as well.

I am a recent graduate of Emory University, where I studied Mathematics and Philosophy. I have over three years of experience tutoring middle-school to high-school students in math, science, and test prep. I think every student learns differently, and the most important job of a tutor is to tailor his or her style of teaching to each student's unique way of thinking.

I am very adaptable. I studied in a foreign country and I have traveled to a lot of places. I have friends from all over the world and I still keep in touch with them. Having dealt with students with different personalities I believe that I can be a good friend to them. Although teaching is my major area of interest, I spend my spare time doing social activities and sports. I am fond of playing table tennis. I am an undergraduate student studying Neuroscience and Religion at Emory University. I've been tutoring for over three years, and I have extensive experience tutoring math all the way from Algebra 1 to Calculus 2. I am extremely passionate about helping students understand and love what they are learning, and in my experience, my tutoring style of focusing on the underlying concepts of a subject has been very successful. I'm a a high school graduate headed off to college at Haverford, a top college near Philly. I specialize in both math and writing, often tutoring my friends and volunteering at the writing center. I've taken many dual enrollment math courses at local colleges, including Calculus 1,2, and 3, as well as linear algebra. I also do a lot of test prep, as I've actually taken the SAT 5 times and scored a 1590, so I'm very used to standardized testing. I love helping people, so I hope I can help you!

I am currently a physics student at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Throughout my high school and college career, I have been tutoring people of all ages a variety of different subjects, but I specialize in math and physics. I am a firm believer that one cannot explain a concept to a 5-year-old, then they do not understand it enough. When I teach my students, I try my best to make sure they can achieve this deep level of understanding in whatever subject they are studying. I'm a sophomore at Harvard studying Applied Math, Economics, and Computer Science. I am a May 2012 graduate of Princeton University with a degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering currently working in Midtown Manhattan as a consultant. In the past I have had a variety of opportunities to tutor - from one on one tutoring for the SAT in high school and peer tutoring in college, to online tutoring students in Korea and and teaching a two month English seminar in Brazil. I am an energetic tutor with an abundance of tutoring experience in a broad range of subjects.
