About Me

I am a graduate of Clarion University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Education. my certifications are Elementary and Special Education. I also attended Clarion University for my master's degree. My masters is in Curriculum Instruction and Design. Since graduation, I have been teaching in a public school setting. I began my teaching career in Rochester School District, teaching 6th Grade Learning Support. After three years in Rochester, I transferred to Ambridge Area School District. I began teaching 7th and 8th Grade English. After teaching 7th and 8th graders, I found my second home teaching 1st Grade. I have been teaching 1st Grade for the past thirteen years. While I teach all subjects in 1st Grade, I am most passionate about Decoding, Reading, and Writing. In my experience helping struggling students in phonics, reading comprehension, and math skills, we always seem to have the most fun (with remarkable advancements) prepping for their educational career. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my daughters and watching them in their extra circular activities. I also am a High School Cheerleading Coach, which has been a great why to be a positive influence in my community. I also enjoy reading and spending time outdoors.
