About Me

I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in English Literature. I hold a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and an online teaching certificate from the International TEFL Academy. I currently work for a local nonprofit and teach refugees from Afghanistan, Cuba, Iraq, and Ukraine. I also teach and tutor ESL students in grammar, reading, writing, listening, conversational English. I work hard to include all my students in each lesson at my non-profit work. As a tutor for K-12 students, I have over 1.5 years of experience. I have tutored ELA, reading, and more. I use research-based methods. I enjoy working with every student and have experience addressing a range of learning challenges. It is essential to try different ways of teaching material based on what you prefer. I have a knack for noticing what needs more work or where to go next in the lesson. It is essential for me to be flexible. You can expect me to be relaxed and supportive.
