About Me

As an elementary\special education major with an add on math endorsement with over 19 years of teaching experience, I have dedicated my career to creating inclusive and supportive learning environments where all students can thrive. I believe that every child, regardless of their background or abilities, has the potential to succeed, and it is my mission to find the tools and strategies that will help them reach their full potential. This commitment drives my passion for teaching, particularly in the area of mathematics, where I work tirelessly to ensure that all students develop the skills and confidence they need to excel. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with diverse groups of students, including those with a wide range of learning differences. Every child learns differently, and it is my job to identify each student's unique strengths and challenges in order to provide individualized support that fosters both academic success and personal growth. Whether through differentiated instruction, hands-on learning, or adaptive technologies, I continually seek creative ways to engage students and make complex concepts more accessible. Mathematics is often a challenging subject for many students, but I see it as a vital skill that underpins success in many other areas of life. I am particularly driven to help students build a solid mathematical foundation, not just to achieve academic goals, but to develop problem-solving skills, perseverance, and confidence. Over the years, I have seen firsthand how students who initially struggled with math can flourish when given the right support and encouragement. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a student realize they are capable of mastering a concept they once thought was beyond their reach. I believe that when students feel supported, understood, and respected, they are more willing to take risks in their learning and approach challenges with a positive mindset. I also collaborate closely with colleagues, parents, and support staff to create a holistic approach to student success, ensuring that every child has the tools they need to succeed both academically and socially. Looking ahead, my goal is to continue refining my approach to teaching math and learning how to reach every student, regardless of their learning style. I am excited to explore new strategies, technologies, and resources that can enhance my teaching and ensure that I am providing the best possible education for my students. My ultimate aspiration is to foster a love of learning in all of my students and to empower them with the knowledge and skills that will serve them well throughout their lives. In summary, my career as a teacher has been defined by a deep commitment to my students' success. I believe in the power of education to change lives, and I am dedicated to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to reach their goals, particularly in the area of mathematics. With each new class I teach, I strive to create a learning environment that is welcoming, inclusive, and engaging, and I look forward to continuing this journey of lifelong learning alongside my students.

Hobbies & Interests

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy a variety of hobbies that help me maintain a well-rounded and active lifestyle. I’m an avid fisherman, finding peace and relaxation by the water, where I can unwind and recharge. I’m also a dedicated fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and watching their games with family and friends is one of my favorite ways to bond. Staying active is important to me, so I make time to work out regularly, which helps me stay physically and mentally sharp. Coaching my kids in sports is another passion, as it allows me to share my love for teamwork and perseverance with the next generation. Family is at the heart of everything I do, and I cherish spending time with them, whether we’re hiking in the great outdoors or enjoying a quiet evening together. These hobbies keep me grounded, energized, and inspired, and they play a big role in shaping the positive, engaging mindset I bring to my teaching.
