I was the team leader for fifth grade along with being in charge of the Multicultural Club at the school. I have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to teach students living in poverty, ESE students, and ELL students. This has provided me the opportunity to challenge myself to meet a variety of needs. I have always strongly felt that it is my responsibility as a tutor/teacher to reach a child wherever they are, both academically and emotionally. My favorite thing about being a teacher is getting to watch the spark that occurs when a child that has been struggling begins to grasp the concept and starts to believe in themselves and their abilities.

My hobbies and interests are mainly focused around my 9 year old granddaughter. I love spending time with her, getting to experience new things with her, and getting to watch her learn and grow. I also love spending time with my animals and enjoy working on an older house that I bought.
