Susan C.
- I am a graduate of Hood College, with a double major in Economics and Law & Society.
About Me
I attended The American University Ph.D. Economics program. I completed all the Ph.D coursework and comprehensive exams, but not the dissertation. I have taught economics at the college level for over 15 years. I enjoy seeing students make connections between economics and other fields of study or their own personal interests. It is heartening to watch students utilize economic concepts to understand the world around us. While most people do not find economics super easy, I find that much of students' anxiety stems from using math, but believe that most economic principles or concepts can be understood using little math; and once a student has a strong foundation, being able to utilize and understand some math ends up being a great deal easier. I have taught introductory Micro and Macro courses, Intermediate Micro, Labor Economics, Money & Banking, and U.S. Economic History.
Hobbies & Interests
I am a parent to two teenagers, and spend a lot of time attending their sporting and school events. I also like to cook, and do sewing/needlework crafts.
