Without education, I would not be able to achieve my greatest ambition, to assist the youth to develop their fullest potential. Throughout my life, I have always been optimistic and dedicated to my studies. I've always maintained a B average. I knew I had to work hard so that I can be the change that my family wasn't, to receive a higher education. I was determined to attend college and receive scholarships, and that is what I did. As an undergraduate, I immersed myself in the resources at Claflin University especially in its Freshman College. As a result, I mentored and tutored freshmen students and became a visionary leader on campus. It was then that I knew my purpose was greater than being a Journalist. In undergrad, I have maintained an A average in my English courses and was recognized by several professors for my achievements. After graduating from undergrad and attending graduate school, my love and passion for helping the youth expanded, which led me to become a substitute teacher, in which I managed while being a full-time student. It wasn't until I became a Program Assistant for SCAD's summer program, that I realized that my hard work and dedication affected the youth in whom I've worked with. I've motivated, inspired and changed so many young people lives which exceeded my expectations. I have years of experience of learning and teaching, to be a better me, so that I can motivate and inspire the youth to be a better them. My discipline has allowed me to receive a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication and a Master of Arts Degree in Film and Television Production. Education has always been a priority in my life and when an opportunity approaches me, I always do my best to provide the best learning experience.
