About Me

I graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies, followed a Master's degree in Forensic Behavior Analysis; all the while tutoring in the university's student-athlete learning center. While also working part time as a pool attendant in a country club and tutoring in essay and paper writing. I tutor in a broad range of topics, but most passionate about English, Writing, and Psychology. In my experience helping a struggling student overcome an obstacle and become confident in their new found skills is a very rewarding experience. I am a firm proponent of learning, believing it to be necessary for every aspect of life; for every new skill and knowledge learned, no matter how slight, can change a person's outlook on life. As such, I hope that each student I work with can experience a measure of this discovery for themselves.

Hobbies & Interests

SCUBA diving, fishing, reading (almost anything), watching movies (almost anything),playing with my dogs (especially at the beach and park), gardening (so far just tomatoes, basil, and mint successfully; but working on sweet potatoes)

Education

Bachelors, Psychology, Criminal Justice - Florida Gulf Coast University
Masters, forensic behavior analysis - Florida Gulf Coast University

Q&A with Sara

I believe that the role of a teacher/tutor is to provide opportunities for continual learning and growth, for both the student and myself. To cultivate a safe learning environment, provide tools for the continuation of learning for the student, not only the subject at hand but also for future situations. Finally, I believe that teaching the student to challenge themselves continuously and take that skill to other aspects of their life, not just their education.
