About Me

I'm a former high school English teacher and college counselor from Chicago enrolled at a graduate writing program at the University of Minnesota. I most love helping students discover their power and voice through college essays and projects for their literature courses, but I also love helping students grow in their reading skills and other classes. I believe that every learner has the ability to grow if a good teacher or tutor pushes him or her along the way. I try to do that through first getting to know the student and then empowering him or her through modeling and questioning to get to core understanding. I like to also use humor and a lot of patience.
