During my undergraduate studies I tutored peers in French. After graduating from college I taught conversational English in Paris, which nurtured my interest in helping English Language Learners. I love explaining the shades of meaning in words, strengthening students' reading comprehension, and building their writing skills. I believe patience and kindness are key to student success. As a graduate student in a field called Learning Technologies, I am constantly discovering which educational approaches best help students. I am a great tutor because I believe in finding out why students have certain road blocks to learning and crafting an approach that helps them overcome those obstacles. I am patient and I understand the importance of explaining a concept without assuming prior knowledge or making the learner feel patronized. In my free time I enjoy yoga, running, playing with dogs, and checking out design blogs.
