About Me
I received my BA in History and French from the College of the Holy Cross and my Masters in Education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I have worked with students my entire life, as a substitute, paraprofessional, and full-time teacher teaching both social studies and French. I spend my summers working in Nice, France at a summer camp for American high school students, running activities and trips while tutoring them in French. My main areas of expertise are French and History though I also tutor Literature and SAT Prep (Verbal/Writing). In my years as a teacher and tutor I have learned that having fun is a great indicator of success. Piling too much pressure onto students only creates stress and self-doubt so I like to keep things light. I like to make lots of comparisons to current events that are relevant to the subject matter at hand to make things less intimidating and foreign. When I am not working I like playing and recording original music, cooking (often French dishes, not surprisingly), and watching sports. I am a huge fan of Liverpool and all the New England teams (yeah, this year has been rough) and love watching my fantasy teams underachieve.
