I earned a teaching certificate for German in New Jersey. Since then, I have taught students of all ages, including twelve years in public schools teaching 6th-12th graders. I taught adults in a community course and ran a tutoring center at a community college. I have also volunteered presenting German instruction at preschools and elementary schools on special celebrations for my children's classes. I have used a variety of teaching techniques but I generally use lively, hands-on methods, and I feel that learning through stories and physical responses greatly improves success in communication. Beyond tutoring, my interests include hiking and nature, environmental issues, reading, word games, travel, and spending time with my family.
