I have eight years experience teaching French in public high school and middle school environments. I have worked with beginners and intermediate students, as well as students in advanced levels of French. I enjoy tutoring one-on-one, because I am able to focus solely on the needs of one individual. As a school teacher, I have been amazed at how effective one or two private extra help sessions can be for the student who has been struggling in the larger class environment. I believe that I explain language concepts clearly and in a way that students of all skill levels can understand. My students have told me over the years that I am a patient and encouraging teacher and that I make learning French fun. I love helping students realize that they CAN in fact learn French, even if they thought they couldn't! One of my 9th grade students once wrote the following to me: "You are one of the most positive people I have ever met, and you taught me never to give up. You always have a HUGE smile on your face, and that is why I look up to you and why you are one of my role models."
