Moayad
Certified AP Statistics Tutor
Moayad
MS Oregon State University • BA Jordan University of Science and Technology
6+ Years Tutoring

Teaching statistics at the university level at Washington State University Vancouver, Moayad knows exactly where AP Statistics students stumble — inference logic, interpreting p-values, and distinguishing between experimental designs. He breaks down hypothesis testing and confidence intervals using the same framework he uses with his college students, scaled to the AP curriculum.

Kimberly
Certified AP Statistics Tutor
Kimberly
MS Columbia University in the City of New York • BA Wesleyan University
1+ Years Tutoring

Public health research is fundamentally a statistics course in disguise — Kimberly's Masters work at Columbia involves reading epidemiological studies built on sampling design, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing, so she can ground AP Stats concepts in real research questions about why a particular study's conclusions hold up or fall apart. She's especially sharp on the inference and study design units, where her psychology background adds a second layer of understanding around confounding variables and observational versus experimental distinctions that the free-response section loves to test.

Brian
PhD University of California-Santa Cruz • BA California Institute of Technology
9+ Years Tutoring

Caltech's economics program is quantitatively rigorous — Brian's coursework meant building econometric models, running hypothesis tests on real datasets, and defending statistical conclusions in ways that mirror exactly what AP Stats free-response questions demand. His dual background in CS and economics gives him a knack for explaining the logic behind choosing between z-procedures and t-procedures, or why independence conditions matter, in terms that click for students who think algorithmically. SAT score of 1580 speaks to the precision he brings to exam strategy.

Benjamin
BA University of Virginia-Main Campus
5+ Years Tutoring

Studying statistics as an actual major at UVA — not just taking a service course — means Benjamin has gone well beyond the AP curriculum into multivariate methods, probability theory, and statistical computing, giving him a deep bench to draw from when explaining why, say, a sampling distribution behaves the way it does or when a normal model applies. He's particularly sharp on the inference units, where students need to move from calculator output to writing conclusions that use the specific contextual language the free-response rubric demands. Rated 4.7 by students.

Daniel
Current Undergrad Student, Biomedical Engineering Rice University
9+ Years Tutoring

Neuroscience research runs on statistics — hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, regression analysis, interpreting p-values from real experimental data. Daniel applies that firsthand lab experience from his work at the Jungers Center for Neuroscience Research to break down AP Statistics concepts in ways that go beyond formula sheets. His biomedical engineering coursework at Rice keeps these tools sharp and current.

Yosef
PhD Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
8+ Years Tutoring

Hello, my name is Yosef and I would be happy to serve as a math tutor. I place strong emphasis on a good balance between knowledge of mathematical content and proficiency in problem-solving, reasoning, and conveying mathematical ideas in writing. There are times when a student needs to be informed of a solution, times when he or she also needs to hear the explanation of why the solution works, and times when he or she should be guided to finding the solution on his or her own. It is important for the tutor to recognize which approach is appropriate. Frequently, when students struggle, it is because they do not understand the notation or terminology in use. In such cases, it is important to reassure the student, reminding him or her that he or she is only struggling with understanding a single word, not the entire mathematical concept. As a rule, people perform better and are better motivated when they have self-confidence, not when the task ahead seems frighteningly daunting. It is also important to recognize that different students learn best through different means. As an example, some students are visual learners and can understand the material best through pictures and gestures. Other students learn best through hearing the procedures vocalized, while still others learn best through writing out the steps of the solution procedure. I know to adapt my teaching style to the individual student. with these considerations in mind, I promise to provide the best assistance that I can, taking your individual needs into consideration.

Blake
Current Undergrad Student, Statistics Michigan Technological University
6+ Years Tutoring

As a statistics major at Michigan Tech, Blake lives in the material that AP Stats students are tested on — probability distributions, inference procedures, experimental design, and the logic behind hypothesis testing. He breaks down tricky concepts like Type I and Type II errors or interpreting confidence intervals in context, which are exactly the areas where AP exam free-response questions separate 4s and 5s.

Hidefusa
MS Harvard University • BA New York University
8+ Years Tutoring

Behavioral science research runs on SPSS and Stata — Hidefusa has used both extensively to analyze experimental data, build regression models, and run the exact hypothesis tests that AP Stats students need to master for the exam's free-response section. His clinical psychology training at Harvard meant designing studies with proper sampling methods and defending statistical conclusions in front of faculty, which sharpened his ability to teach the interpretive reasoning the AP rubric rewards most heavily. Rated 4.9 by students.

Rithi
MS Johns Hopkins University • BA Duke University
9+ Years Tutoring

Biostatistics coursework during her Master's in Biotechnology gave Rithi hands-on experience designing experiments, running statistical tests on biological data, and interpreting whether results actually mean something — which is the exact reasoning cycle AP Stats builds its curriculum around. She's especially sharp on the probability and sampling distribution units, where her neuroscience research background makes concepts like normal approximations and variability in sample means feel concrete rather than abstract. Rated 4.9 by students.

Puja
BA Carnegie Mellon University
6+ Years Tutoring

Carnegie Mellon's biology program is lab-intensive, and Puja spent semesters designing experiments, collecting messy real-world data, and determining whether results were meaningful — skills that map directly onto AP Stats topics like experimental design, sampling methods, and inference reasoning. She's particularly sharp at teaching students how to translate calculator output into the precise written explanations the free-response section demands, since her science training required the same kind of defend-your-conclusion thinking. Rated 4.7 by students.

Calin
MS Babes Bolyai University • BA Babes Bolyai University
1+ Years Tutoring

Philosophy trained Calin to dissect arguments and spot logical gaps — skills that translate directly to the interpretive reasoning AP Stats demands, where students must justify why a particular test applies or explain what a confidence interval actually captures. His math and computer science background means he also handles the quantitative side fluently, from probability distributions to regression mechanics. Rated 5.0 by students.

Tessa
Current Undergrad, Mathematics and History Yale University
10+ Years Tutoring

Most AP Stats students come in expecting another formula-driven math class, then hit a wall when the exam asks them to explain *why* a normal model applies or *what* a 95% confidence level actually means in context. Tessa's math major at Yale gives her the theoretical grounding to unpack those conceptual questions, while her history training — building arguments from evidence, weighing competing interpretations — maps surprisingly well onto the kind of structured, language-precise reasoning the free-response section rewards. Rated 4.9 by students.

Anthony
MS Florida International University • BA University of Miami
1+ Years Tutoring

With two master's degrees in mathematics education and state teaching certification, Anthony has taught the full arc of the math curriculum — which means he knows exactly where AP Stats diverges from every other math class students have taken. He zeroes in on the reasoning behind inference procedures, teaching students to articulate why they're choosing a particular test and what their conclusion actually means in context, rather than just punching numbers into a calculator. His 34 ACT reflects the kind of disciplined, structured thinking that pays off on the exam's language-heavy free-response questions.
