About Me

Education has always been more than a career for me, it is an opportunity to inspire curiosity, build confidence, and help students discover their full potential. With a Master's degree in Biology and over fifteen years of combined experience in scientific research, conservation, and education, I bring both academic expertise and real-world application to every tutoring session. My professional journey has included working as a research biologist and biological technician with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, and Army Corps of Engineers. These experiences allowed me to conduct wildlife research, environmental monitoring, ecological surveys, and conservation projects that I now use to make science engaging and relevant for my students. For the past several years, I have taught Biology, AP Biology, AP Environmental Science, Ecology, Earth and Space Science, Anatomy and Physiology, and Human Biology at both the high school and college levels. I believe every student is capable of success when they are taught in a way that matches how they learn best. My tutoring approach emphasizes patience, encouragement, critical thinking, and personalized instruction. Rather than simply helping students memorize information, I strive to help them understand concepts, make meaningful connections, and develop confidence in their abilities. Whether a student is preparing for an exam, working through difficult coursework, or pursuing advanced science studies, I am committed to creating a supportive learning environment where questions are welcomed, curiosity is encouraged, and academic growth becomes an enjoyable experience. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to inspire a lifelong appreciation for learning and science.

Hobbies & Interests

Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time in nature and exploring the outdoors. My passion for wildlife, ecology, and conservation extends beyond my career and has inspired many of my hobbies, including hiking, birdwatching, wildlife photography, and visiting state and national parks. I enjoy learning about new scientific discoveries, reading about biology and environmental science, and finding ways to connect real world experiences with education. I also value giving back to my community through mentoring, volunteering, and helping students build confidence in their academic abilities. Above all, I enjoy lifelong learning and believe that curiosity, exploration, and continuous personal growth are essential both inside and outside the classroom.
