About Me
His work has appeared in Politico and The Oregonian in addition to newspapers around the Puget Sound from the Northwest Asian Weekly to the International Examiner. He was a statehouse reporter and 2020 Poynter-Koch Media Fellow at the Center Square. He now writes at The Washington Observer covering power and influence in the Washington Legislature. He is the recipient of the 2017 Pioneer Award for News Reporting and the 2016 Deborah Kaplan Memorial Award for "story with a strong writing style." In 2024, his review of a storied Portland Esports bar won second place in the Society of Professional Journalists Region 10's category "Writing: Small Review."
