About Me
With 13 years of dedicated teaching experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to tutoring in all aspects of English/Language Arts. Although I have a degree in English/Language Arts from Central Washington University, where my love for literature and language flourished, it is the years I spent in a classroom that taught me the most about connecting with students in a meaningful way. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of guiding students 6th through 12th grade through the intricacies of English, helping them develop not only their academic skills but also a deep appreciation for the written word. My role, whether as a teacher or tutor, has always been to guide students, develop their strengths and build the skills/tools to improve areas that challenge them.
Hobbies & Interests
Reading and travel are great passions of mine, and I do both as often as possible. I love to spend time with family and friends. I love to watch football and baseball--the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Mariner's are my 2 favorite teams. I spend part of the year traveling around the United States in my camper with my mixed breed (French Bulldog and Boston Terrier) dog. Additionally, I volunteer with the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life and the Sarasota Literacy Project which helps adults learn to read.
