As a graduate of Florida A&M University with a bachelor's degree in journalism, and currently pursuing my master's in education, I am deeply passionate about the power of literacy and education. My journey has led me to become a 4th grade ELA teacher, where I have also had the opportunity to tutor college students in English 1101 and English 1102. My decision to become an educator stems from a profound belief in the importance of building the future and providing enriching experiences for all children, especially those who may not have access to such opportunities. I firmly believe that literacy is the cornerstone of a thriving society, and I am committed to fostering a love for reading and writing in my students. Utilizing my experience, I have successfully created test preparation strategies and provided support to struggling students, resulting in a remarkable 30% increase in proficiency on standardized exams within my classes. I am dedicated to ensuring that no child feels discouraged or left behind, and I am driven by the joy of witnessing their growth and success. Outside of the classroom, I find solace in expressing myself through poetry and crafting short stories.
