I began teaching while in school, working with local high schools and private lesson studios, teaching both individual lessons and leading larger ensembles and classes. I am committed not just to sharing my passion for music, but ensuring that my students understand the foundations and structure of what they are learning in an intuitive way so that they are completely prepared to meet the academic and creative challenges they will face. In my experience, most students with difficulty in music simply need help connecting the more simple concepts together and reinforcing the language that we use to describe these concepts. I seek to find and rebuild these missed connections to help students find success in academia and beyond.

When not practicing, teaching, or performing, I enjoy hiking, strength training, travel, and relaxing with good company.
