About Me
I am an Illinois certified educator and currently teach 7/8th grade math while pursuing my M.A. in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education. Prior to becoming a math teacher, I worked briefly in Private Wealth Management at Goldman Sachs. I believe in empowering students with the skills and tools they need to become lifelong learners and am a strong proponent of the power of education to transform lives and uplift families and communities. I work with almost 130 students on a daily basis across a broad spectrum of achievement levels and am well-versed in differentiating instruction to meet students where they are in their learning journey. I have worked with students across a wide range of grade levels and ages, including young children and adult learners. Additionally, I have helped both struggling students prepare for unit exams and standardized tests while also working with high achieving students to create enriching learning environments that keep them engaged and motivated to succeed. In the 2021-22 school year, my students' standardized test scores in math indicated an average increase of 1.5 years of growth in just one school year. I love getting to know my students and having fun in the classroom. I try to incorporate humor and real-world scenarios into our learning to keep our work relevant and engaging. My favorite subjects to tutor are Algebra, Geometry, Literature, and argumentative essay writing. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, cooking delicious meals, and training for marathons.
