I have been involved in education in various capacities for over 25 years, with a focus mostly on grades 3-12. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Social Studies Education from Syracuse University and a Master's degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in Education Policy. Although I have experience in tutoring many topics, I believe my true success has been working with students in English, Social Studies, and study and organizational skills. I have been trained in using academic interventions in both traditional and online settings. In my work, I have extensive experience in using data to pinpoint specific skills that students need to understand larger concepts. I believe that assessments and testing answer some questions, but more importantly, they should also raise new ideas to individualize instruction for each student and their unique learning styles. I have worked over the years to develop effective professional development for teachers which has strengthened my own skills in tutoring students. I am passionate about education, love to learn from my students, and I continue to strive to make sure all students have the best opportunities to succeed and enjoy learning.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, and sewing. I also really enjoy attending music concerts with friends, especially outdoors in the summer.
