From early readers to high school scholars, I believe every student has the capacity to excel when given individualized attention, clear study tools, and genuine encouragement. Over the past five years, I've taught and tutored students across public, charter, and private school settings as well as virtually. My experience spans ages 7 through 18 and includes English Language Arts, Writing, Reading Comprehension, History, and Elementary through Pre-Algebra Math. I also have extensive experience supporting students with diverse learning needs, including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Down Syndrome. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Africana Studies with a minor in Arab Studies from Davidson College, and I am formally trained in Study Technology through Applied Scholasticsan educational methodology focused on helping students master concepts, improve comprehension, and build independent study skills. My teaching philosophy centers on connection, clarity, and creativity. I tailor each session to the student's learning style, set measurable goals, and create a supportive environment where students feel safe to make mistakes, ask questions, and experience genuine progress. Whether helping a child gain confidence in reading or guiding a high schooler toward higher-level writing skills, I focus on real understandingnot rote memorization. Outside of teaching, I enjoy writing, exploring world cultures, creating educational content, and inspiring others to approach learning with curiosity and purpose. My goal in every session is to help students not only succeed academically but also develop lifelong confidence in their ability to learn, think, and create.

I’m passionate about creativity, culture, and connection. Outside of teaching, I love exploring global music—especially Arabic, Spanish, and neo-soul genres—and often build playlists that inspire my writing and classroom projects. I enjoy trying new recipes and hosting creative dinners that bring people together. I also spend time designing digital crafts and branding projects on Canva and Wix Studio, blending my love for storytelling, design, and education. In my free time, I journal, travel, and explore ways to merge art, culture, and learning into meaningful experiences for others.
