I pride myself in my abilities to learn how my students learn so that I can relate the material to them. Many students have often commented on how fun and laid back my lessons are too. I love having fun; and to me, nothing is more fun than learning about languages. My background and experiences are diverse, which allows me to empathize with my students. You'll often find me asking lots of questions to better learn how you are learning so that I can help make sense of the material. Each lesson is a mini journey that leaves everyone excited for the next one. I can't wait to help you learn and see that lightbulb go off over your head. As a native speaker of English I have a natural understanding of how it should sound and what the grammar should be. My formal education in linguistics at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA, USA allowed me to gain a much deeper understanding; and what's more, I took the majority of my classes in college in Spanish, French, and Mandarin Chinese. During my time in Taiwan, Germany, and France I gained a keen understanding of the Second Language Acquisition process from the perspective of the learner while being immersed. This background is what makes me well rounded, this is what drives me to be more effective as a tutor.

Language and cultural studies constantly preoccupy my thoughts but more socially I enjoy videogames, golf, and traveling. I also enjoy staying up-to-date on politics and I am always open to knowledgeable conversation.
