I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and my Master of Education in Elementary Education. In addition to completing a graduate degree this year, I served as an Elementary Teacher for Orange County Public Schools for 2.5 years, where I taught Kindergarten and Second Grade. I created lessons that engaged all learners by applying a variety of teaching methods and utilizing SMARTboard technology. I formed cooperative learning groups, organized individualized projects, created learning centers and implemented interventions. Alternative assessment methods, such as portfolios, rubrics and performance assessments, in combination with traditional tests, enabled me to evaluate the students individually and comprehensively. I communicated with parents and attended all parent/teacher conferences and professional development workshops that were held. Furthermore, I have been a substitute teacher for Orange County Public Schools, a German language teacher and dance instructor for Elementary school children. I have a passion to teach and love to work with children in creative ways. Being fluent in three languages, English, German and Russian, as well as have lived in four countries revealed my love for diversity. I am passionate about teaching children and forge relationships with them that help build a sense of confidence and enable them to grow as learners. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, Pilates, Zumba and Volleyball.
