CPR and AED Use

Saving Lives with CPR

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) keeps blood and oxygen moving during cardiac arrest.

  • Chest Compressions: Push hard and fast in the center of the chest.
  • Rescue Breaths: Give breaths if trained and able.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

AEDs analyze heart rhythms and deliver shocks if needed. Follow voice prompts and make sure no one is touching the patient during a shock.

Real-World Application

During a basketball game, a player collapses. An EMR starts CPR and uses an AED, restoring a heartbeat before EMS arrives.
